20 Ways To Be Happier In Life

I have often been accused of being eternally happy. Ironically I am usually called this by the same folks that call me rude or mean. I have no idea what that is about, but if it works for them then so be it. However, I recently began to wonder, what exactly makes me happy. The part about folks calling me rude or mean never really mattered because I am fully aware that I am not for everybody. So while thinking about what makes me happy I came to the realization that the things that make me happy can pretty much make anyone happy if they just practice it. Keep in mind, what I am about to suggest may not work in it’s entirety for everyone, but it certainly works for me. I suggest using it as an outline or a framework for your list of things that work for you.  So without going long on this thread, here are my 20 Ways to be Happier in Life.

  1. Don’t take on other people’s problems.
  2. Always find the silver lining in every situation.
  3. Surround yourself with positive people.
  4. Recognize that there is a higher power than yourself.
  5. Get in a very good laugh at least once daily.
  6. Worry less about how much money you have and start focusing on making more.
  7. Give yourself some down time or a vacation.
  8. Watch old school cartoons and comedy periodically.
  9. Get some sleep.
  10. Have sex on the regular.
  11. Do not be concerned with what those that do not pay your bills think of you.
  12. Find peace in your life and defend it at all cost.
  13. Enjoy spending time with your children and if you have none, enjoy watching those that do.
  14. Spend time with a group of people of the opposite sex. The knowledge you will learn from just one conversation with them is priceless.
  15. Read a good book.
  16. Try something new that you always wanted to try.
  17. Make time for those in your inner circle.
  18. Recognize that life is not as serious as you are making it.
  19. Leave earlier for meetings that way you do not have to be stressed about getting there on time.
  20. Enjoy your time with family while you are with them and enjoy your time away from family when you are not with them.
