Love, Health & Happiness: 3 Resolutions For A Healthy (Sexy) 2013

Happy New Year!  As we embark on a new year and look forward to love and health in 2013,  many of us  (I hope!) have made resolutions to “get our healthy on” and make healthy changes to our diets and lifestyles.  Which resolutions are most effective and how can we stay motivated?  To get us started on the path to good health and better sex this year, I thought it would great to provide some “sexy” incentive for a few key healthy resolutions:

RESOLUTION #1 – Eat more (half your plate) fruits and vegetables.

REASON? – Good sex! Fresh, whole fruits and vegetables not only provide more water (see below on lubrication) but also the vitamins and minerals you need to stay healthy and active in (and out of) the bedroom.  There are many fruits and vegetables that are also powerful natural aphrodisiacs (more on that in a future post) both hormonally and visually (what man doesn’t enjoy seeing a woman suck on a banana and what woman doesn’t enjoy seeing a man submerge himself in a juicy mango?!?!)

RESOLUTION #2 – Drink water (at least 8 cups per day) and cut down (and out) sugar sweetened beverages.

REASON?  Better sex! When you are hydrated, you are lubricated! (Get it?) From your joints to your sex, staying hydrated ensures that the bed will be the only thing creaking (or broken!).  In addition, it has been shown that, when you are hydrated, your mood improves (and we all know how important mood is for sex).  On the opposite end of the spectrum, sodas and other sugar-sweetened beverages can sap your mood and energy, lead to depression and other diseases (e.g. diabetes) which can limit your abilities in the bedroom.

RESOLUTION #3 – Get some physical activity at least 30 minutes a day most days of the week.

REASON? – Best sex!  Your level of activity outside the bedroom can dramatically affect your level of activity in the bedroom.  When you are consistently physically active, your mood improves, your sex drive shoots through the roof AND you feel good naked!

Even if you are not sexually active currently, the anticipation of it as you “get your healthy on” can make for its own excitement (more on that later too)!  And if you are active, sexually that is, enjoy the fruits of your healthy habits (pun intended!)!
