BLF Fashion: Spring Is The Season Of The Lady

May is here and I haven’t been this excited for spring fashion in a long time! I’m officially calling this the unofficial “Season of the Lady.” Yes, we can be ladies at work, home, dates, church, and on the go. Season of the Lady means embracing your feminine side, enjoying being a woman who can be soft yet strong, meek but noticed, lovely both outside and within. I’m sharing a few of my favorite pieces for this season for the lady in all women:

For the Classic Lady: Tracy Reese

Tracy Reese is one of my favorites because she’s not afraid to mix and match bold colors and prints. In her spring collection you’ll notice bright greens and long silhouettes for an easy breezy look that celebrates the feminine physique. From the spaghetti strapped floral maxi to the plunging v-neck dress, you can feel like a woman without the need to wear tight garments. Light, airy, and bright fabrics are perfect for the warmer weather months.

For the Curvy Lady: Ashley Stewart

Ashley Stewart is showcasing bright and beautiful looks for plus size ladies this season. The retail chain plays with length as well this season with my favorite—the lime green a-line dress that hits just below the knee. These flirty styles are great for multiple occasions and are open to experiment with gorgeous statement necklaces and other jewelry. Bold yet elegant is the look that these picks give for the classy curvy lady.

For the Cultural Lady: Melange Mode

I have been admiring Melange Mode on Etsy for some time, and I’m happy to share these gorgeous African inspired pieces for the springtime. Again, you don’t have to show all of your assets to be considered a woman. These looks vary in color and print, from the mini dress to the royal a-line maxi, you will definitely make heads turn and wonder where you got your look from. Queenly, versatile, and fun describe these looks for the lady with a global flair.

For the Cute Lady: Standout Style Boutique

ShopStandOut_Sp15Located on the north side of Chicago, Standout Boutique has never failed in providing unique garments for the lady who wants to be girly. Whether you’re getting ready for a date or a night out with your fellow ladies, you can play in these sweet looks with their springy colors and flattering cuts. I can’t deny the gorgeous lace detail on the back of the white dress. For spring, lace and pastels are always staples for the lady who wants to be free, feminine and cute.

For the Corporate Lady: The Limited

Honorable mention goes to The Limited for their wide selection of spring looks for the workplace. I chose a few looks from their separates to show the use of lace, print and color. I am in love with the lavender straight pants that give show a sincere yet fashionable approach to work wear. From the office to the after 5 meetup you can still keep it ladylike in these simply chic looks this spring.
