Let’s Have Intercourse!

After playing an interactive game at an adult house party, I was one of the lucky winners who walked away with two hefty prize bags filled with goodies. As I fished through my bags to view the contents, I came across a book entitled, ‘365 Things Every Couple Should Know‘ by Doug Fields.

I quickly thumbed through the book catching a glimpse at some simple yet profound suggestions that every couple should do to create a long-lasting, healthy—and most importantly—fun, fulfilling relationship.  Each “poignant, witty exhortations of wisdom” began with the declaration, “Every couple should know…. I was honestly surprised at how many things I didn’t know. One statement that stood out was verbal intercourse is more important than the other type. I knew that sex in a marriage was a strong component of communication but didn’t expect the verbal portion to outweigh the physical. I continued perusing over some more statements and came across “Every couple should know”…the largest and healthiest sex organ is the brain.

In that moment, I realized one thing: intercourse is by far the most intimate way for couples to come together and connect as one on the highest level. It’s not always about having sexual intercourse (side bar: don’t get it twisted, sex is important)! But, I’m referring to the type of intercourse that involves another form of sexual stimulation: verbal.

Verbal intercourse is the act of exchanging emotions, thoughts and feelings through socializing. During social intercourse, my husband and I make love to the…mind. We layout the four-play of our dreams. We caress the visions that we have for our individual lives as well as a couple. We arouse each other’s inner-purpose by stroking the desires of the heart. Quite frankly, I can erect his creativity by whispering sweet ideas in his ear. He in return allows me to reach my climax by hitting the spot with his positive affirmations.

It turns out that the verbal intercourse between our minds created a more electrifying sexual experience between the sheets. I really hit the jackpot that night at the party. I walked away understanding one thing that every couple should know. Now, let’s have intercourse.
