Richard’s Room (pt. 2 of 4)
The fact that the song goes on to say “f-ck that nigga that you love so bad” is not us as men hating on the other dude. Hell, we salute him for figuring out what we could not; but when a man is hurt, he rarely cries, but what we do, is mask our pain with anger. What we also do, is try and find the one person we know is on our side. So if at that moment what we want is to talk to someone that will make us feel better, F-CK whomever is getting in the way of that. The fact that she picked up was all that we needed to know. Clearly if dude was there, she would not have done that….OK, KICK THE SECOND VERSE DJ!!
Uh, cups of the XO
All my people been here
I see all of her friends here
Guess she don’t have time to kick it no more
Flights in the morning
What you doing that’s so important?
I’ve been drinking so much
That I’ma call you anyway and say..
(y’all know what comes after that!!)
Again, as men, we like to hang out and kick it just like anyone else. After awhile of drinking, looking at women, sitting in place, we will ultimately start thinking about the woman that should be there that we REALLY wanted to see, but instead all we see are her friends. We might even ask one or two of her friends where she is. This is what becomes the “thirsty” stage. Basically, we are trying to figure out, where this chick is cause she not with her girls and she not at the spot, so she is either with her dude, at home, or somewhere else. The singular viewpoint is that we want to see and talk to THAT woman. That is all that is crossing our minds at that time.
