So the boxer guy, he’s actually been hanging in there pretty strong. And you know I’m quick to cut a guy clean off! Saved in the phone as “DO NOT ANSWER” and all, so you know he must be doing SOMETHING right! Case and point…
My girlfriend and I went to Play Date Atlanta recently, if you’ve never heard of it… OMG! It’s great! It’s a singles-mingles alternative to the club or grocery store, or wherever the general public goes to pick one another up. They have every kind of board/card game you could think of! They also have the Wii and XBOX going in the back, hoola-hoop contests, and men vs. women tug of war in the front, which by the way I fell during, thus almost getting trampled…SMH…note to self: never wear wedges and try to play tug of war… Basically, it’s adults letting out their inner child, or inner brat in some cases, and just having plain old fun.
Now why I asked this handsome devil of a man to attend a singles meet and greet event is totally beyond me ….(hmmm I need a name for him), we’ll call him “Prototype”, but I’m proud to inform you that I didn’t have to embarrass him or myself that night for getting out of line. He was all over me in the midst of all those beautiful women, like I was the only one he had eyes for. Even my girlfriend said she liked him because he was giving me all that attention. Some guys when they go to functions like that, they’re a little stand-offish. I’ve been with those guys, they get missing after awhile or pull the “We’re not together, so why you tripping?” at the end of the night.
The funny part about that is I was actually the one who was a little sideways, as me and my boo were walking back into the event, I was stopped by one of the MC’s whom I knew from previous events, he says to me:
“ Where have you been? I’ve been looking for you!?”
Now what does someone say to that when clearly him and I both know he wasn’t looking for me in a professional sense. So I did what anyone else would do and laughed it off, while noticing my beau getting a tad bid irritated out of my peripheral. I took about a minute in half more and then reunited with Prototype who in turn, put his arm around me as we walked away.
Now this may seem small to some people, but men and PDA (public displays of affection) don’t always go hand in hand, but I love it when a man has that “Hey! She’s with me!” kind of mentality. I feel secure. I like that…helI, I like him…a lot.
