Join us in the dialogue about:

  • The perception of happily ever after vs. the reality of marriage
  • How to embrace the role of wife and motherhood and the challenges that come with it.
  • How to build TEAM in your marriage
  • The keys to staying happily married
  • The natural process of being married, what to expect and how to get the lifestyle of the marriage you want
  • The power of a wife and much more…

Lakia is the author of He’s not perfect. I’m not perfect. But together we’re…Picture Perfect. As a little girl, she was sold a dream that women were suppose to marry their Prince Charming, clip clop into the sunset and live happily ever after. But as life unfolded, she realized that several chapters of the fairy tale story were missing. For her, love had a bad reputation. But through a journey of growth and education, Lakia discovered that love is first a decision. Love was patient. Love was kind. Now, after two years of marriage, Lakia believes that her marriage is an example that true love does exist and “imperfect” fairy tales do come true.

Charmaine, author of The Bait to Get Your Mate, relationship mediator and motivational speaker, has been married for twelve years and is very candid about the beauty and challenges of marriage. She notes the obstacles of going from a driven entrepeneur to becoming wife and mother and having to put her dreams on hold from time to time. Her marriage is a true example of ups and downs and how relationships evolve with the work put in by both husband and wife. She shares the good, the bad and the ugly and how to overcome and embrace it all.
